The Classic & Sports Tour of Cornwall 2019
in aid of…
Rain and sunshine greeted the 2019 Classic & Sports Tour of Cornwall…
In that order. Rain before lunch, sunshine after! The event took place at the end of September when Newquay Auto Club held their annual mystical tour around our county. Clerk of the course Sarah once more showed how on the ball she is with the planned route meandering along some of Cornwall’s finest.
Sunday the 29th saw a collection of beautiful vehicles arrive at The New Inn, Goonhavern. Coffee and tea were served and all were up for a sporty run. Using, what is known as “Tulips” to define the route, makes for an interesting time. Miles can be travelled without knowing where you are, which is good for the digestion! In actual fact the route started on the north coast, found its way to the south coast before heading for Rame Cross and the Halfway House for lunch.
Having been well fed and watered the competitors headed west taking in a loop at Praa Sands before heading north again via Godrevy and the coastal road back to Portreath and then the finish at Tricky’s, Redruth.
